Today , Pei Li was not here and Eric replaced her. He gave us a lecture about Values. In our live, many things happened around us relate to our value. Value is a belief that is important to someone. We make decision base on our value, we do things base on our value, we react base on our value… People will put effort to do something because they value that something, as that something is meaningful to them. We will only spend our time, money and energy on things we value.
I value my family. They are important to me as they affect a lot of things in my life. Before doing any decisions, they are in my consideration. Besides, I always value my interest (eg. drama). No matter how busy I am, I never allow myself to miss drama classes and I will always try to improve myself in this field. Learning drama gives me motivation and I grow stronger along the process of learning. In addition, I value my peers as they are my someone that learn together with me. We support each other, we compete to strive better goals.
In our career path, it is also important to choose a job that we value. I heard many cases of my friends that they study the course their parents wanted them to study and they chose the job their parents favour. Actually, it was quite miserable to hear this as they suffer a lot. They obey their parents as they value them. However, they need to spend a lot of time to do something they don’t value. In some cases, they waste money and time when they finally decide to change their course. It was important to make decisions base on our own value. For our parents, we can actually discuss and negotiate with them. If we respect our parents, they will respect us too! We value our parents, but we need to let them know what we value as well.
